Hello all,
I have been passively searching for hatch hinges for nine months but have not been able to find them. I tried GM first and they informed me that the part is discontinued. I have looked at most big online auto part stores (Classic Industries said it takes a few years after a part is discontinued to show up in after market form).
I read the two guides on this site, but I believe my hinges are actually bent. I was told the hinges can be bent by heavy acceleration and constant pressure by the struts.
I hope other people here have been able to find new hinges in the last year and could point me in the right direction. A copy of the factory blueprints would also be nice incase I need to bend the ones I have back to the factory angle.
Thanks for the help.

16609160 RH for 91-2 and is out of stock (NOS part exhausted) or, discontinued. 16609261 LH, still floating around. Not sure why there is a left & right since the prior years (82-90) used one hinge for both sides.

If you can't find them PM me. I have a set on a junk hatch I'm sending to the scrapyard I can pull off.
A trip to the junkyard will yield you a set I'd be willing to guess. Make sure that you check the condition of the struts, so that the "good 'ole stick" can be retired.
Try a few rear hatches in the open and closed position to determine what you need.
A large Torx bit "30" (??) is needed for the top mounting location and some small metric sockets if I recall to remove what you'll need.

Thanks for the help all. I was able to find the hinges at the newgmparts.com quickly. That looks to be a great site. Although I did not think the hinges would be 89.00 each as pictured HERE.
I have been hesatent to go to a junk yard in fear I will get more hinges with the same problem. I might take tour of a few junk yards around here to see what I can find though. My transsmision valve body just died so the money saved buying used might be worth it. Im not sure what I will do now that this damn transsmision problem came up.
