My car's paint is starting to look like poo, so I am wanting to get a new paint job done to it. However, I understand that the majority of the cost for paint jobs is the prep work that is done before the paint is even applied. That said, my car has a lot of rust spots and dings in it that would probably cost a fortune for a paint shop to fix, so I would like to attempt to do some of the work myself.
I remember finding a bunch of articles and write-ups on how to do your own prep work on the boards a long time ago, but even after searching I could not find them... lost in a sea of paint-related threads.
So if anyone has links to any articles about paint prep work or even just personal experience and advice, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I always go to these paint forums to read and ask questions as they are mostly shop workers and owners that will help you with it all...
