i recently installed the big block stinger hood from duraflex onto my 84 z28. the problem im facing is ive heard everyone say i should use pins. ive never been fond of the way they look. but driving down the interstate it sure does move a little more than im comfortable with. ive also seen lots of pics with the same hood without hood pins. anyone have any advice or have gotten up to fast speeds with this particular hood?
The only thing holding your hood shut is the latch and then safety catch. Glass hoods, especially cheap hoods can rip these latches out and send the hood back into your windshield. Pins are a secondary latch system to prevent this from happening and are quite effective at it
