I recently picked up an 83 z that needes a tranny and a lil body work. Got it jacked up to throw a tranny in and the driver side unibody where the crossmember bolts is rusted and flakey. Also looks like someone jacked it up there and cracked the rust. Car is pretty solid otherwise. Confuses me as to why it is so rusty there when the rest looks good. Wondering if it can be fixed and how to fix it with out taking it to a body shop. Thanks in advance.
