Hi
I am new here i just bought a mint formula 350 with 50,000 mi
and am having problems with the rear power pull down hatch.
The motor gear and housing are good what it does is when you open
the hatch it will push so far and it makes a click and drops down in the the motor catch and trips the switch and go"s right back down i bought new strong lifts but they dont raise the hatch you still have to lift do to the heavy wrap around spoiler i tried adjusting the whole motor assembly the only way i can get it to work right is to pull the motor way to the left and that holds the hatch up in the motor so it dont trip the pull down switch but that pulls my hatch way to the side and i have one large body gap i have it centerd now so when the hatch comes down and the hatch pin is in the center of the motor catch.
Thanks!

I have adjusted mine so it will release the hatch hook, but the motor won't start until I go around and raise the hatch. Something else you could try is installing a coil spring to the bottom of the hatch near the latch. The purpose of the spring is to push the hatch far enough up that it is clear of the latch and striker-sensing switch it rises. My vehicle is a Firebird Formula with the same heavy aero spoiler that you have. I suppose I can test a few springs for this application and add it to my web site once I have selected an appropriate one. The othe solution is a far most expensive one. That is to replace that heavy aero spoiler with the light hollow fiberglass one.

Sounds like you have weak struts or the wrong ones, Their are struts just for the heavy wraparound spoilers, you may have purchased the wrong ones.
