Ive been prepping my ta for paint for a while now and i will be ready to spray the engine bay soon and was wanting opinions on how many coats of paint do people spray and how many coats of clear? Ive read anywhere from 2 to 6 coats of color and endless coats of clear. My car was rust free but the paint was peeling so i took it down to bare metal then put on etching primer followed by filler primer and im down to my last round of blocking with 400 grit. Any input is helpful. Also i would like opinions on brands of paint. The original color is white and that is what i will be repainting it. Not looking for bottom dollar products but i also dont want to spend a months pay on paint and clear. Any experiances good or bad with products will be helpful in narrowing down my choices. Thanks again for any input ve spent alot of time on this nd want it to turn out nice.
