I guess this is the appropriate board for this... I'm just curious about what can be done to a car that gets keyed. Hopefully, this will never happen to me, but in the event that it does I'd like to know in advance how to correct it. I'm thinking that the only way to fix it would be to get the part repainted.

Depends how pissed off the guy/girl was when they had the notion to key your car.

If its only a minor nick or something just get a scratch repair kit and touch it up yourself.

If its a fair length, say a foot or so then you might be able to sand the area down and fix it yourself. Or at least prep it for the body shop to repaint.

If the **** keyed the length of your car (truck in my case) not just once but twice, then its time to call the insurance up and get the whole side redone by a shop.

when i got keyed, i used that stuff and guess what, IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!! mine was pretty deep, but i rubbed and buffed and buffed............it'll take a lot of work, but it works in the long run

i bought some stuff in a yellow bottle called KIT......i got it from strauss auto

just remember, it works, but not as easy as it says on the bottle, you really gotta keep rubbing..........my "key" was about one foot in length.....so far i've gotten about 6 inches of it out cuz it takes a while to do..........but its worth it!!!!!!
