1984 T-Top Camaro - any chassis reinforcement needed before adding power?
1984 T-Top Camaro - any chassis reinforcement needed before adding power?
Once again, my question is exactly what the title says. I have a 1984 T-Top Z28 Camaro that I'm planning on swapping to a 370hp 350. Is there any reinforcement needed for this, or are the stock torque rods/other reinforcements good enough?

If you care about performance, I'd recommend a set of weld-in subframe connectors for any 1982-02 Camaro/Firebird. Makes a HUGE difference in overall rigidity while driving, and also gives you a jacking point. It's not necessarily needed, but worth doing if you're doing other mods.

Agreed. I would put SFC's on any Thirdgen that you weren't keeping 100% stock. T-top cars are less rigid than hardtops and since you're doing an engine swap anyway-- definitely go with some weld-in subframe connectors.

"Need" is a loaded word. Plenty of people have put more powerful setups in a thirdgen without SFCs. It's not necessary, but it's a good idea.
