Camaro looks good! I think those ctsv calipers are the same as the 2010 camaro brembos.

I enjoy the way things change. When I swapped to 1LE's, which at that time were THE upgrade, I thought that nothing would get much better than that.

How touchy are these big brake kits when stopping normally?

wow, those look great! Puts the 4th gen/c5 kits to shame for sure.

Just curious, you plan on doing anything to the rears? I'm running the LS1's on all fours, and I REALLY like that front kit... I dont even know whats out there for the back.

Ditto, I still run C4 HDs on my RS and my shop is FULL of stuff... my C4s are GREAT brakes though.

I have the Wilwood 4 piston setup on the rear of my car and I love it. The parking brake setup is really clean too. These setups use a 12.2" rotor.

i believe the ls1 set up is smaller

From what I've seen on ls1tech, the ctsv calipers will bolt directly to an LS1 spindle and used c6 z06 rotors. Which looks like what you have. It stands to reason that a thirdgen with LS1 style adapter brackets could bolt a ctsv caliper/z06 rotor on. I think that's what he's asking.

...placement of what? The caliper? Other than spoke clearance, which is amazing (at lease on my c6 z06 swap, I have at least 3" between the wheel spokes and the calipers) the caliper only really has to match the rotor, which if it does on a fourthgen I don't see why it wouldn't on a thirdgen.

This is what I meant. I wanted to find out what caliper bracket (to 3rd gen spindle) is used for the CTSV brake swap.

Got confirmation from Ed Miller that 3rd gen spindles w/ the LS1 brackets could/would bolt on the CTS-V calipers (also the 5th gen camaro caliper since similar) but would require a modded 5th gen camaro rotor. (center need to be openned up )

Now we need some pictures to confirm this.

Re: at last my 14" ctsv kit arrived!

they're 3rd gen modified spindles. most common way is machining down a stock rotor to turn it into a hub, since 4th gen (and similar) rotors are slip on vs. the 3rd gen bearing and race setup.

Re: at last my 14" ctsv kit arrived!

Considering the breaking potential of thes massive rotors will it still be nessicary to use a proportion valve? i would imagine fronts would lock up far before the rears. less the weight transfer is that great with the new stopping power
