I was wondering can you remove the round weight from the early lt1 rear calipers.

I am doing the drum to disk (early lt1 brakes) in my 92 and I was wondering how it would affect the brakes if I remove the round weight? I assume they are there for vibration or harmonics but they look horrible.

Yes I removed them on a couple cars, never an issue.

Some early cars equipped with PBR's didn't have the dampener at all.
