I bought a pioneer DEH1500 off ebay that didn't come with the harness and I was wondering if anyone has a good picture of the back of the connector where the wires come out. I need to know which color wires go to which pins. I have the manual so I know what the colors are for, I just need to know where they go on the back of the reciever.
Thx,
Chris

Harnesses are about $15 after shipping and taxes or $20 from the car audio shops in town. I already have the adapter for the car side, I just want to solder that to the back of the reciever. No sense in wasting $15 or $20 for a $30 deck. I have a Pioneer Premier P300 that still has a harness but I don;t know if that is the same as the DEH 1500. I also have an older DEH 445 to look at, but again I don't know if the colors are going to match. This CD player is for my truck, which isn't really secure because it has the sliding rear window, so I don't want to dump any real money into it since it likely will not last the winter.

Any Pioneer harness that fits will work but be carful, Pioneer has used 4 different harnesses in the past couple of years. The DEH-1500 is not that old, it's part of last years model line. Note that I said any PIONEER harness that FITS (this does mean will fit with use of hammer). Originally posted by HamiltonAudio

Get a harness for it, you'll be better off.
Editing my edit: 6 harnesses if you include the Pioneer double DIN units.
But at least the harness you need for the 1500 is probably the most common.
