Hey everybody,
I just put down a deposit on an 89 TA with a Jasper 350 0.040 over in it. On top is a 750 CFM Carb (Edelbrock I think), and everything else is Edelbrock too.
Now theres this annoying problem, when you floor the gas sometimes it takes off, other times it stumbles before pinning you back in your seat. The rest of the way it runs like a champ, only when you take off from a stop. The distributor cap is loose (previous owner attached it with tape
), could this be causing this, or does this sound like a fuel delivery problem? BTW I know jack about Carbs (was TPI'er before) so please try to explain why you think what you think.
Thanks for the help, and I hope people on here are just as helpful as the TPI people.

Hey, we're even MORE helpful...
Welcome aboard.
The old saying is, "90% of carb problems can be fixed with a set of points and plugs." While we don't have point ignitions anymore, the principle still applies that the ignition system should be optimized before any work is done to the carb.
Get that fixed, then come back in and we'll keep you on the straight and narrow!

I know its kind of an old topic, but how did it go? I have the same problem with my engine when it's cold, but as soon as I hit 140-160 degrees it runs great.
