I need an intake just to hold me over until I get heads , cam and new intake. I'm gonna just pick up a cheap one at the junkyard. Are there any intakes that are better than others, as far as stock ones? My specs are below, minus the edelbrock performer intake which I'm returning. Oh ya I have 87+ heads, S/R torquers.

Good luck. Junk yards typically have factory parts, and I don't know of any '87-later factory SBC that used a squarebore carb. Even the GMPP performance intake (like the one on my 305) are '86-earlier style, but at least they're made to mount a squarebore.

Why are you returning the Performer? If it's $'s, your next best bet may be Ebay or classifieds.

you can always elongate the bolt holes in a pre 86 intake
