Anyone? What are you guys running with out there? Soon I hope to get my finished 383 in the Formula. Gonna stick with the ccqjet for now, what would u guys recommend for an intake. I'm running with AFR 190 heads that have been drilled for 87-up intakes, LT4 HotCam. I would like to keep it emissions legal if all possible. Thanks in advance.

Also, where would u guys recommend getting a rebuilt ccqjet carb? Gm/parts store etc?

I would recommend that you NOT get the heads drilled for '87-up bolt pattern, and get a GMPP q-jet/EGR intake, or Weiand Action+ EGR.

Call Jet, tell them what you're doing to the engine. They'll be able to set your carb up for you.

See the magazine articles on this board by Steve Green with "Stroke in the Desert" in the title. He wrote about his 383 emissions build-up.

I run an Edelbrock Performer. The 3706 is the only manifold besides stock that I've tried, so I can't compare it to anything else. It is emissions legal and way better than my stock manifold, though pricey.

Your choices become more limited in that case. I know Edlebrock makes a version of their Performer line of intakes for an 87-up bolt pattern. Not sure who else does.

I would recommend the standard Performer if you want any hood clearance under the stock hood and plan on running a functional EGR system. The much taller Performer RPM is tough to get everything to fit under the hood without going to a very low profile air cleaner (which probably doesn't do good things for making HP) and it doesn't have provisions for EGR. If you have or plan on getting a taller hood and will be going away from the emissions stuff then the RPM ultimately has more HP potential.
