Does anybody know the size of the fitting that goes into the fuel pump? I am converting my fuel line over to a braided one. Summit said it was 3/8 but the 3/8 fitting does not fit, it is too tight and I dont want to force it on. Any help is appreciated.

Yeah, it's 3/8" but the metal inlet fitting on the fuel pump has a little "shoulder" on it out near the end. Might be the reason your aftermarket braided hose doesn't want to go on.

You getting rid of the hard line in the picture for AN? Then you need 3/8npt to -6 adapter to thread into the pump. If you're trying to join the hard 3/8 line to AN, then you'll need a tube nut .

What do you suggest I do? I could get the fitting started a little bit by hand but then it became to tight and I didnt want to use a wrench on it yet.

Dialed in- I am replacing the hardline for a braided line. I have a 3/8 npt to -6 an fitting but the fit is tight.

npt threads are tapered, it will feel tight before it threads all the way in, depending on how it was tapped. Use some teflon thread sealer and tighten it up.

This is what I did I have braided lines from the pump to the carb. But I didn’t have any trouble threading the NPT fitting on the pump. Then I put a 90degree elbow on the -6AN side to route it up toward the carb.
