I have a 1983 z28 with a 350 edlebrock intake, 650 cfm edlebrock, and a couple other little minor additions. I bought this car from a kid who had the motor sitting around 370 hp, when he went to sell it, he took a lot of his parts off. I know this motor is probably only pushin around 200 hp, but i have no bottom end at all. Some people have told me these carbs suck, im not sure, others have told me that the guy who built it might have stuck an RV cam in it, im not sure but from a dead stop, my car wont even turn the tires the power comes around 2000 rpm's, it almost boggs at the start but runs smooth and fine in the top end. Any ideas???

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.

It probably has a bigger cam than your torque converter supports. I'm no fan of Edelbrock carbs, but if this is a 350 (stock was a 305), it shouldn't suffer on the bottom end from the carb.

I assume it is no longer computer control. But, what distributor is in it? Is there a vacuum advance can on the distributor base?
