rebuilt carb ran good for 15 min or so then just died. but starts right back up after pumping pedal one or two times then dies after 30 seconds or so. any ideas?

which carb? try to be model specific as there are different fixes for different q-jets, holleys, carters.

its a quadrajet

check carefully and make sure you used the right base plate and mounting gaskets.usually the kits come w/several and its easy to use wrong one.from what you describe sounds like all was fine until it came off choke.suspect vac leak from wrong gasket.

now its runs pretty good after messing with choke but now it runs rich (blue smoke) that wasnt there before.
