Hi Guys,
I have a carby'd VIN-H system that has 2 sensors located in the top of the thermostat housing... One is for the ECM and the other is for the Gauge. The ECM sensor has a 2 wire mushroom shaped key and the Gauge sensor top has been broken off so I have no idea what it looks like! The ECM sensor uses a 3/8 NPTF while the Gauge sensor is a 1/2 NPTF.
Does anyone have a GM or AC Delco part number for these sensors? I think the ECM sensor is 15326386 but I can't seem to find a number for the Gauge unit. Someone has installed a sensor for the gauge into the head and it reads 40 or 50 Deg low. i.e: It's not the correct one!
Because I live in New Zealand this info and even used parts are impossible to find here. Any help or PIC's most appreciated... Many thanks and kind regards...

On an LG4, the one in the head is for gauge and the one in the t-stat housing is for the ECM. In the t-stat housing there is also a thermal vaccuum switch which operated the EFE valve in the exhaust between a manifold and the headpipe/y-pipe - that's probably what is broken off; it's not necessary.

Ahhh... OK, that explains the larger than normal thread size (1/2 NPT). I still would like the part number of the gauge sender if anyone has it??? Thanks for your help, If it wasn't for this Forum a lot of us would be 'In the dark' out here... Kind regards...

Appreciate your help. Managed to get hold of a Wells data book and after a little research it appears they do a gauge sender in both 3/8 AND 1/2 NPT! They are TU66 and TU65 respectively. This may be usefull for those out there who, like me, will be using the Bowtie heads with no sensor holes (Currently throwing together a 360 CID small block).It means I can use an original Thermostat housing but with 2 sensors (ECM original and 1/2" Gauge). I will drill and tap an un-used hole at the front of the Performer manifold for installing the fan switch for use with a 170 Deg' Thermostat also.This keeps everything nice and tidy and in one central area.
