Hello. I recently changed the condenser in my 91 and in the process, broke one of the A/C lines at the condenser, it was siezed. It's the "high" line that goes from the condenser to the dryer. it has some type of sensor hooked onto it.
I'm trying to replace it but every time I call a parts store, they keep trying to sell me the "low side hose that connects to the compressor. They don't know what the hell I'm talking about.
Can anybody help me out? what's that line called?
ALSO, since the lines were disconnected, do I need to suck out air from the system before charging it? or can I just hook up the cannister and go to town on it?

Thank you in advance

There is no line going from the condenser to the dryer.
There are 3 lines.

Compressor to condenser. This line is mostly a hose.
Condenser to evaporator(in the firewall). This line is a hard line.
Accumulator(dryer) to compressor. This line is mostly a hose.

The evaporator goes directly to the accumulator without a line between the two.

If you broke the hard line, I would guess that is probably a dealer item (or junkyard part).

Make sure you get the correct hard line, too... some don't come with the sensor.

Apparently no one carries this line except the dealer and they have to get it from Boston. It cost $50 bucks Canadian, so that's approximately 12 bucks U.S. (lol) Man, we get ripped off on parts up here like crazy. A friend of mine got a VINYL top for his 94 mustang and it cost CAD $2500.00 installed. I'd hate to see how much a canvas top would be for my car. Fortunately for me, this forum has a few suppliers that when said and done, I can have a new canvas top delivered to my door up here in Toronto for CAD $410.00, now all I need to do is figure out if it's worth me installing it or pay to get it installed.

Thank you all for the replies
