i recently removed everything from the inside the car dash and all so for now im trying to get the motor to run but cant due to an ignition problem. i plugged in the speedo to see if the key on would work it doesnt the speedo lights come on when i start cranking so anyone know how to fix ignition to make the key on work or is there a way i can bypass that so that i can get online to the ecm with my laptop and do the base programming and get the car started??? any advice would be appreciated greatly! another question while im here i guess it has to do with the first but if i crank the car there is no power goin to fuel pump or to any of the sensors i have tested all sensors while cranking to see if its getting power to it i have it all hooked up properly i have gone by the manual over and over and checked everything i guess its just has to do with the key on problem???
Fuel pump relay and positive are connected to the DFI (don't have the schematic in front of me to tell you where on the harness). The DFI needs switched power to operate. If the DFI doesn't get power, the fuel pump doesn't get power.
You can tap power to the 12v "switched" on the DFI to "test" (again, don't have the wiring schematic to tell you where on the harness) but I would refrain from running the system that way. Honestly, if I were you, I'd work on getting your electrical issues squared away before moving on to working with starting the engine and tuning the DFI. You're fuel injection system is very dependant on a good power source. Hope this helps.

thanks fast life for your response i know i should have the electrical system working first when u say switched i dont see any wires that connect the ecm to the rest of the car just to the motor so how would the ecm know if the key is on?? i have the wiring diagrams for the car and it reads like chinese so im having a hard time trying to follow the diagram i might just end up spending money to somebody to fix the ignition.

It's all in the harness. There is a constant 12volt and a switched 12volt there. Looking at the DFI wiring harness schematic, P1 - C6 is for constant 12 volt and P1 - C7 is for switched 12 volt. If you are using DFI's harness, P1 - C6 is the RED wire and P1 - C7 is the PINK wire. If you're using a jumper interface harness, you're going to have to have the schematic for your car as well as the DFI. Hope this helps.
ill look into that when i get back to the shop this weekend i ll let u know if i get the thing figured out thanks for ur help!
