Anyone use one of these for measuring header temperatures?
I was thinking it might be a good way to quantify my cylinder to cylinder distribution.

Make sure you are not measuring on shiny spots. They work on relective heat from the surface and glossy/polished surfaces do not read correctly. Best to put some non reflective paint on spots that could be removed after testing.

FYI.. harbor frieght has them on sale right now.. They are extremely handy for a multitude of projects.. home improvement projects, just tinkering like.. how hot does this get and really handy for anything automotive. Originally posted by ULTM8Z

I've used them to diagnose bad radiators, a wiped cam (couldn't tell that it was wiped I just just definately tell something was wrong with a few cylinders), really handy for my blower's aftercooler, a bunch of different things.

Don, I appreciate the offer!
Though with the new baby and all the overtime at work (including weekends!) I don't think I'm going to be able to get down to your shop for long time to come. Besides, I want one of those anyway for when I make my SEFI LT1 PCM conversion so I can tune the cylinders.
