According to the install instructions, when using the white wire to trigger the ignition (7 pin HEI install), grounding the violet wire should keep the vehicle from starting. I tried this several times with different grounds and it didn't work, the car could still be started even with the wire grounded. Anyone know how to make this work? I guess I could just put an on/off switch on the white wire, but the instructions specifically mention grounding the violet wire.

Keeping the white wire open sounds like the best idea...just in-case your theft device goes out, or you forget to arm it.
