Re: WTB Edelbrock Elite series center bolt valve covers
I've always really like those ones. They don't pop up too frequently. Curious on if they were produced in large numbers or were they like the Edelbrock rims and only produced in small quantities.
Re: WTB Edelbrock Elite series center bolt valve covers
Went to my shop and got the Edelbrock valve covers. Turns out they are the polished version. They were just dirty. They will need a touch up polishing to bring them back to their shiny glory again.
I assume you are aware that the black Allen head screws are just fake plastic parts for looks. The are just pressed into the holes in the valve covers. They fall out all the time. Two fell out while I had them on the marble table taking pictures of them.
Going by your user name I'm assuming you are a machinist? Is this correct?
I just quick wiped these off with a few blue Scott paper towels. Didn't even spray anything on them. So they could look a little better. I'll clean them a little better tomorrow and post new pictures. But no matter what they will need polishing again to bring back their luster.
Those two fake plastic Allen head screws fell off while taking the pictures.
Re: WTB Edelbrock Elite series center bolt valve covers
Beautiful covers, that was the issue with all the elite series products. I had the older air filter and vc in a truck I had. The fake caps I had to glue in.
Re: WTB Edelbrock Elite series center bolt valve covers
I had a similar set of these on a GMT400 TBI truck with the matching 14" open element air cleaner and loved the look. I've always loved the Edelbrock Elite series. Always wanted a set they made for 90+ speed density TPI cars with the oil fill in front and PCV in the rear on driver's side. Finding a set of those is like finding a unicorn.
Damn plastic fake Allen head screws were the bane of any Edelbrock Elite owners existence. If I was keeping them I'd remove them all, center drill, drill, and tap them for real SS Allen head screws and red Loctite them in.

I saw a set in the Edelbrock catalog back in the day and a picture of a 1990 Formula 350 with the them and the other Edelbrock TPI stuff installed. I highly doubt I will ever see another set again.

Thanks for the transaction and I hope you will enjoy them with your Edelbrock TPI build.
