Will my V6 harness work on a V8

I have a 2.8L V6 in a 1989 Firebird but I have a 355 carb motor for it and I need to know if I can use the V6 wiring harness or do I have to find a new V8 harness. Please help!!

You can modify your v6 harness to function like a v8, infact there really isn't that much difference.

ok im a total idiot when it comes to computerized cars but im swaping in a tpi motor into my v6 firebird and pasky i know you have done this so im sure you know the answer to my question.

The v8 has two more injectors so how does the v6 harness work with it??

he's talkin like the powers to the dash fuse box, tach lead, water temp, starter wiers, misc wires that can be used on both. you still use the v8 specific engine harness, & just splice what's needed.

The original question and answer involved going from a V6 to carburated V8. That's covered in the V6 to V8 sticky above, by the way.

If you are going to a TPI V8, using the V6 harness could be grounds for an insanity charge. Get a donor TPI harness and no splicing is required. That's also covered in the sticky.
