I just bought a 1986 Chevy Camaro with the 2.8 liter v6 but I am wanting more power. Would I be able to swap it with a 350 or 372 and a th350 or 700r4 transmission I would like to hear your thoughts and opinions thanks.

Yes. In fact, there is a sticky thread in the top section of this forum that covers the basics. If you still have specific questions, we can address those.

Did you mean 327 rather than 372?
A 2wd V8 or 4.3 V6 TH700R-4 works fine. A TH350 introduces new issues.

I'd go with an LT1 and trans swap from a 4th gen camaro or impala. Much better if and an inexpensive combo(of engine and trans) can be had for 1000 to 1800 depending on mileage

Nothing more inexpensive, practical, easy to mod, and readily available than the millions of gen 1 sbc 350s out there. They only built Lt1s for 5yrs or so.
