Im looking for mid 12's in the quarter mile, and that's what I'm tryin to build the motor for. My car is a 92 camaro with all the needed suspension mods. The setup that will be built is listed below. Any power estimates or suggestions to get me to my goal will be very helpful.

-91 chevy 350 with 2 bolt mains
-AFR 180cc heads
-matching AFR manifold
-holley 650 cfm double pumper carb
-comp cams camshaft with about 230 deg @ .050"
-Keith Black silv-o-lite hypereutectic pistons, D-dish with 10.0:1 compression
-stock type cast crankshaft
-a basic set of comp cams pushrods (sell $30 for all 16)
-comp cams roller rockers with 1.5 ratio
-summit stage 2 connecting rods

-block bored 0.30 over
-boiled and deglazed
-internally balanced rotating assembly

thanks for any input
matt

Unless you gut the car to get the weight down, and/or have unstreetable gears in it, I think your dreams of mid-12's are just that, without some spray, anyway.

You're talking about a relatively mild but sturdy engine with decent heads and a somewhat healthy cam. You don't say anything about exhaust, which is crutial.

Without knowing what you have for tranny, gears, and what you mean by "all the needed suspension mods", it's impossible to judge your ability to meet your goals. But, I'd think you'd need more port volume, more carb, more cam, and stall/gears/suspension/tires to go with them to get into the 12's NA. Streetability will probably be a thing of the past.

Do all that with a 406, and you might be able to drive it as well.

First off to make that kind of power (speed)
you're gonna need much better parts than the ones
u listed. If u like afr heads u should go with the 190's
at the very least maybe the GM fastburns. A hotter cam to
match and some DEEP gears (like 4.10) U might as well
go with forged pistons making that kind of power
as well. 1.6 rockers and slp headers and 3" diameter
pipe going all the way into dual cats and possibly ram air.

I'm not going to say mid 12s are impossible, but not with the parts that you listed. I suggest at least a larger cam with 1.6d and more compression to get into low 13s high 12s. That is if you have some deep gears like Ride4ME stated.
