After installing sub-frame connectors on my 89' formula, i've had clearance issues with my y-pipe. What do you guys usually do about this? I tried modifying my y-pipe, but i didn't bend it enough and it still hits.

I'm going to buy a new y-pipe bc the current one is pretty rusty, any suggestions? I have edelbrock street legal shorty headers, and a hooker 3" catback.

Thanks!

I have dealt with this a few times. IF you go custom you can just go under it else dent the pipe a little to clear it. I have managed to fit a 3" pipe under it.

Well, i have the old street legal edelbrock shorty headers. which i think have 2.5" outlets. So, i would just need the y-pipe with 2.5" inlet and 3" outlet. I will probably go with the hooker y-pipe on Summit but its kinda pricey at 275ish. What do you think?

Thanks

You need to buy the Y pipe that matches your headers or else it wont fit

A performance exhaust shop should be able to make one for you for around the same price as the Hooker Y-pipe and they will be able to make it clear the SFC. The Hooker also only has a 2.5" outlet, so it's a bit of a bottleneck.
