whiching from internal to external fuel pump help

hello everyone i am trying to take out my internal fuel pump and just run lines to a external fuel pump. and i was wondering if there is a way to just swap the sender in the tank with a non internal pick up or what any help would be good

i also heard that you can get the top piece of the fuel tank off of older model that ran a machanical pump

That is what Pocket said... he just said it a little differently.

Any third gen that originally had a carb, originally had a mechanical fuel pump. So, use a sending unit from a carbed car.
