Okay, I think this is the right place to ask this question.
I bought my 88 T/A (L03 305TBI, Auto, approx. 125,000 miles) in April of this year. The woman I bought it from lost her insurance (too many sp tickets!) so she was forced to sell the car. I bought it for $1200 (not bad?) After about $900 later to pass MD state inspection (new tires, struts, 1 brake rotor, section of exhaust pipe, headlight motor) it is running well stock only right now.
Anyway, back to the subject. The RPO sticker is missing from the car so I do not know what options are really in this car, other than the VIN code and some obvious options. My question is: there is a badge on the dash, near the leather glove pouch (or whatever its called) that says "Performance Suspension". Is this an indication that this car has the WS6 suspension package? Here is the VIN decoder results on Thirdgen.org:
Made in: United States
Manufacturer: General Motors
Make: Pontiac
Carline Code: F-Body
Carline Series: Trans Am, Formula
Body Type: 2 door coupe (hatchback)
Restraint System: Manual belts
Engine Code: 305 ci V8 L03 (1988-1992)
X is the CHECK DIGIT
Model Year: 1988
Assembly Plant: Van Nuys
Production Sequence: 256035
There isn't a Vin digit that inicates WS6, is there? Is there any other way I can find out what exactly came in my car?

I'm not an expert on the subject, but i believe that emblem does mean WS.6. I believe that all T/A's got the WS.6 option standard, but i am not 100% on this...maybe someone else?!?! The other thing you can do is measure the front and rear sway bars diameter. i think the front is like 36mm and the rear is 24mm, i think there are some recent posts up in the suspension board that have the correct exact measurements, but i'm too lazy right now to check for u
.. sorry i couldn't help more, but i thought maybe this would point u in the right direction.
BTW...i'm not sure what else to do for lost RPO codes, i think you may be out of luck for those, unless u find them under a seat somewhere or stuffed under carpet or something. I still havent' found mine yet
and i've had my car for a year and a half, not sure if a previous owner lost them or not
