I WAS READING THE NEW STANDARD FIREBIRD CATALOG AT A BOOK STORE AND IT SAID THAT WS6 WAS MANDATORY WITH THE LB9 IN 85 TRANS AM'S.CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF IT'S TRUE? THANKS

i have an 85 trans am with ws6 and i have no clue, what is lb9 , is that the engine code.

lb9 v8
Nice 85 you got there.Yes lb9 is the engine code for the 305 tpi engine.If you have an f in your vin you have this engine

WS6 wasn't required with the LB9 in 86. I would imagine that 85 is the same story.

I agree!! My buddys 85 TA has a LB9 and he does not have a WS6.
