I always thought that the rims were the black GTA wheels for these years. Bit today I learned these were in fact, optional.
The deep dish high tech turbo rims were standard.
That triggered a possible forgotten memory.
Something about GM running out of the GTA rims in 92? Or am I going crazy?

I have never heard of the GTA wheel shortage. A rear disk brake shortage tho...
The Black cross lace rims were an option on the Formula in 1991 & 1992. Interestingly enough you could only order T-tops on a Formula 350 if you got those rims. It was not some loop hole, but rather it was spelled out that way on the Dealer order sheet in 1992.
And beyond what some people believe the rims could hve been ordered without the T-top & 350 options.
The standard deep dish High tech Turbo Formula rims found on 88-90 Formulas were still standard in 91 & 92.
