L 98 or ?

The 350 Tuned Port motor in a Vette was designated a L 98, it had aluminum heads. Is the iron head version in a 3rd Gen still a L98?

The L98 came out in 1985 in the Corvette.

It had iron heads.

The aluminum heads on the Corvette came out mid-way through the 1986 model year (I believe when the convertible was re-introduced).

The 1987 and later 'Vettes all had aluminum heads.
