According to the story, this was on a 86 bird that was crashed in 87 .
Weird story, is it a preproduction test bumper, a one off, were a bunch made? How would someone have the 91-2 style in 86-7?? Lots of questions..
Does anyone have any info?

Re: Weird 91-2 bumper cover
So let me get this straight: This nose has been sitting around for 25 years and nobody has ever heard of this piece? Oh, and its an SLP piece before they were even around. His story doesn't jive. Looks like a modified nose from a '91-92, possibly a base 'Bird or Formula without the GFX package. Look at the close up picture of the driver's side. Notice the lower portion where it has the lip(?) on the bottom. If it were a one-off I don't think it would have that styling cue, which is the exact same as the production pieces in '91-92. They probably fiberglassed the top to modify it to fit the headlights from an '86.

Re: Weird 91-2 bumper cover
SLP started around 85-6 but I highly doubt they had anything to do with this bumper. Prolly just a tag to get more hits..
Its ALL fiberglass. I have a headlight door from the 98LS Fbody frontend update and its all hand laid fiberglass with fabbed metal tabs to bolt it on. It came from Pontiac engineering.
A lot of weird engineering parts do end up in very weird places..
The story is very weird but people do hoard parts for a long time, I'm one of them..
