I have an r dot trans am hood dated 1992 on my 85 and was considering selling but want to advertise it properly along with gaining some knowledge about it. I haven't been able to find out much information online.

.
R DOT was new replacements from GM ... all panels etc that originally have the VIN label on them had R DOT labels as replacements ... so at least it is a good proof its GM original even if used.
Thanks for the replies guys. I had a change of plans so the hood will be used and not sold. For future reference I would still like to know would gm r dot panels considered NOS ?
Any part that not been used but is out of production and can't be bought over the counter anymore would be NOS ... however NEW old stock is the keyword here.
GM R DOT panels would be original GM manufactured replacement parts / spare parts and of course if never used (with or without packaging) they would be NOS.
