Ive searched the forum with no success. Lots of posts on rims, but can any of you guys tell me. When an Iroc rolled out of the factory, were the the rims color matched? For instant painted black on a black Iroc ect ect were there many options back then (86) regarding rim choice?

No, they were either Gray or Gold.

they grey and gold were the same rim just different color .. 85-87 were the same rim then they switched it in 88-90 to a different rim ..

Correct. All 85-87 IROC wheels were the same with a single center accent stripe spoke, machined face, available in 2 different accent colors (silver or gold), black center cap with either silver or gold lettering.

88-90 IROC wheels had the double stripe down the spokes and silver center caps.

Don't forget the wannabe Irocs with 15" wheels. Normal oldschool Z28 15" wheel in 88, 15" iroc styled wheel in 89 & 90. Total disgrace to the breed, but a consequence of making every Z28 an Iroc.
