20s look better to me! Nice work. My 20x10s for both front and back with 40 offset and 7" backspacing. They are gona tuck in too lol. Gotta finish painting the back half of the car before I can get pics and the rims should be here in a week or so.

I currently run 1.25" adapter on the front (nothing out back but the ford 8.8 is 1.5" )longer each side compared to my 9bolt) bc i run ford rims and 17x9 with 275/40 rubber fits with about 2.25" to the strut from the tire. Add about 1.5" up from where the rim is at and I should have even more space... I might even me around the strut shaft which adds like 1/2" compared to the strut body. I'm planning on dropping the 1.25" adapters and running 15mm or .6" adapters to tuck them in even more but it might be a hair too much so I might add another 1/8-1/4" if I need the nudge outwards. 20s clear the tie rods no problem. Will post em when I get it done!
This was mine as of last Oct… but now its COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! Hopefully get it done by the end of august if I get the time to paint and cr@p. It got full TA GFX, Moly Kmember, Weight jacks all around, dual 3" exhaust over the axle (pass and driver side), new speed hut custom setup gauges, TA Tail lights with LEDs and blinker mod, quad HID bixenon projector lazy eye retrofit, New medium charcoal metallic paint with clear, black gloss 20" rims with 295/35-20 Nitto Invo tires, and some new OEM door panels. So its going to look wayyy different lol.
lol thanks guys. Well when you see the new version you won't be dissapointed! Wheels coming tmrw! whoop whoop!
Ive always loved the TAs as I feel like the base FB and formulas are "unfinished" the way the body tucks in at the bottom, they look long and top heavy like a streamline form floating off the ground since the body lines curve inward at the bottom on the sides etc. The TA's GFX box out the car, make the wheels look tucked in more and to me "connects" the car to the ground without really sacrificing ground clearance.
The pics are as low as I could go... now with the new moly Kmember (which hands much lower than stock) I couldnt be that low as I would for sure hit it on everything and thats just not safe. So its jacked up a bit and the new larger 28.1" tires should give me a lowered look while jacking the car up alittle more so I clear things like speed bumps etc lol.
My fingers are crossed! Side note is that these wheels and prob the front adapters will be for sale shortly!
Custom Blackbird. Looks really cool with those meats!
Bob88GTA, the 5.0 is my sleeper mode. Actually I am looking for a 6.3 liter sticker. I have found 6.2 which I may go with. I am also going to get a 440hp sticker for the air cleaner as it dynode at 439.5hp but blue print motors stated it was 430hp. I guess they built it really well. The engine came with 50,000 mile and 30 month warranty.

They can be urs! Just gotta buy em from me lol. They will bolt on to our cars with adapters. In the pic I have none on the rear but stock 3rd Gen would need. 1.5" adapter, in the pic the front is a 1.5" adapter, I sold that adapter and got a 1.25" to tuck it in a smidgen more and I would include that with the wheel purchase. My new rims I'm going with a 15mm or .6" adapter front and might need a small spacer maybe as well.
Suspension is pretty much Spohn all around http://www.spohn.net/shop/1982-1992-...dy/Suspension/. The tubular LCA, A-Arms and Panhard bar + Poly bushings. The big change is the torque arm http://www.spohn.net/shop/1982-1992-...nsmission.html That really planted her. The mid range 360ft/lbs is now planted to the pavement. I can't barely spin the tires. Taking off a corner is now a piece of cake, she hooks with minimal drift. Thanks to the drag radial. Before that, with oem setup, she was spinning like there is no tomorrow and hopping some times! This gives me confidence she will be able to handle 450-500 ft/lbs once we get the 383.
As far as the 383 stroker goes, it's on the "drawing table". I have completed the pilot project of converting to a FIRST Intake with all the "customization" and tuning that came with it! I will upgrade the fuel pump next. I kinda went with structure, driveline & rear end, suspension, braking and fuel delivery & intake before any engine in order to make sure the car could handle the torque. I also wanted to keep the original look or idea so the speak, thus I kept the OEM wheels. Every step had its challenges, testing and correcting! Countless hours I tell you.... But more to come.
With the new driveline and added weight, she is actually not much faster but ready to receive the final "piece de resistance".... the 383!!!
1987 formula 350, TA body GFX, 521BBF/2004R/ford 8.8, Sitting on brand new 20x10s and 295/35-20 Nitto Invos on all 4 corners. Just took it out to a local car show for the first time this year. Will be getting a 5.3 LS twin turbo maybe as soon as this winter.
