Hi, couldn't find any good board to post this question in, but I need to ship a car from Portland, Oregon to Charleston, SC. Anyone got any suggestions on a good/decently priced car-shipping service? I googled it and found one site/company that said it would be about $900 to transport the vehicle, which sounded about right to me, but I wanted to check around for reputable shippers and to double check that this is a fair price. I've never had to ship a car before, I normally just drive them back...but this one is a little too far.
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance

Be careful, call direct if you can, unless you don't mind your phone getting pounded for a week, with people wanting your business. The 800 numbers on the internet are just a service, and they send your phone number to 40 businesses.

Door to Door Transport Co. from Vancouver, WA to deep south Texas $1095. This is for an open carrier as they were unable to find an enclosed carrier that was headed this far south and I would have waited weeks for my car. No issues.

That doesn't sound like a bad price - it's an odd route and off the beaten path.. Realize that you are coming out of an area with lousy weather right now and going through the mountains - your car will be a mess when it shows up.
roy@doortodoortransport.com or .net - either will work, he's one of the owners.
If you tell him Chris in Connecticut sent you it works sort of like a coupon code & you get a slightly better rate from what I've been told.
Shipped 1969 GTO from Canal Fulton, OH to CT for me
1970 GTO Convertible from Detroit, MI to CT
1971 Formula Firebird from Raleigh, NC to CT
1972 Lemans Sport Convertible from Merritt Island FL to CT
1973 Trans Am from Lincoln, NE to Detroit, MI (I picked it up there)
1979 Formula Firebird from St. Maries ID to CT
There are more but those were the first few that came to mind.
