Anybody in or around Milwaukee with extensive engine knowledge, especially with emissions related stuff? I have tried just about everything I can think of, and still my little 2.8 won't pass emissions. Is there somebody around that would be willing to take a look at it? Or better yet, somebody with some special tools that could help me diagnose my problem?
I have done a FULL tune-up, new cat, new 02 sensor. I am getting about 27mpg on the hwy, but I can smell gas in my exhaust, and the emissions test station reports that I have a cylinder misfiring. The thing is, I have plenty of power, and I don't know what could be causing the misfire. I have low vaccuum, altho, I don't know of any leak anywhere. There's got to be somebody around with more knowledge than I have.

hello
I would check your fuel injectors-- one might not be working properly-- sometimes they stick open and cause that problem.
If you have a carb rebuild it.
to pass emmisions I would try this
put in 1 range hotter spark pugs (NGK race plugs about 2 dollars at napa), retard your timming, lean out the air fuel mixtuer if you have a carb put in high octain fuel with ethonol and 2 galloons of e-85. 10 gallons regular gas to two gallons e-85. do not use the e-85 if you have fuel injection unless your owners manul says it is ok. before going to to pass the emissons run the **** out of the car get it good and hot keep it that way untill after the test,
Maybe you can just pay some monies to have the car emmission exempt
later and
