Re: ohio newbie here
I dont know how to tune with 1 or 2 ...I'm not looking to tune and race on the weekends ...I would like to take it down the track at lest once....but the main reason I want the OBD 2 is ...there is this thing you can plug in to the OBD port and it sends all the info to your tablet or smart phone ...I want to redo my dash with no mechanical gauges ..I want 2 small tablets one where the tach is and one where the speedO is ...

Re: ohio newbie here
Im not sure but I remember seeing someone do this with OBD1 and tunerpro. It was using the aldl cable though(not wireless) Now smart phone either.

But that idea does sound pretty nice. Ill have to look into that to learn some more about what is possible.

Quote: The syclone and typhon where basically grand natural's wrapped in s-10sheet metal. ..that's cool..on what you did...more than I could do...my chip is a over the counter chip...have you ever seen the write up that s10wildside did ...he started a company efi connection ...he has a way to take your OBD 1 out and replace it with OBD 2....
The GMC Syclone and Typhoon were not even close to the Grand National Motor. Only thing they had in Common were they turbo's and a V-6 other than that nothing else even Close. I've owned both, I'd take a Grand National anyday.

Re: ohio newbie here
I have seen some nice cars sittng there...I had my iroc in the shop near the old Wendy's...

When I first got the iroc ..a shop on starr had just open ( the old dan R's shop )...I took my iroc there for a oil change... they had my car up on a lift....then the guy tells me " when I drove your car in ,the rear felt funny " ...as the oil drained, we both looked over the rear...he grab the rear wheel and rocked it back and forth ....then said " your gears are bad you should take this car to 4wheel drive defersafy " ...so I called them to bring the iroc there...well they had moved to a new shop and I couldn't find it...so I called around ...and the shop by the old Wendy's said bring it in ...they had the iroc for a few hours ..called me up and said the rear is fine..dont worry about it....so they where honest ..and will get my business again...

Yeah not trying to knock on any shops but I've heard horror stories about Dan R's. And if you seen some of the cars we have inside right now we're working on. 69 Dart with a New Hemi, 65 Vetter, 71 Monte Carlo, 02 Vette with only 7k. Plus more coming. Plus my Iroc and a New Convertable on the way as my next Project.

Re: ohio newbie here
Well i got the car. Took alot longer to go get it then I wanted but all that matters is I have a DD to go to work again. Its amazing how much Tq it has. Its a great DD and is a fun car. Ran 13's at the track last year and actually he had a best in the very high 12's last fall when I was out at the track with him. Cars got quite a few internal and external mods to it. Like 1.9 rockers, full exhaust with headers, a great tune, and upped for 8psi stock to 12psi of boost currently.

Now I have a supercharged V6 and a turboed V6 but I still love the turbo better.....

Re: ohio newbie here
Both have their benefits and cons unfortunately but id lke to imagine turbo would not starve the horsepower ratings cause ifr I recal the 3.8s claimed to use like 5horse to run the blower but this is not fact but what I recall what the guy at levelhead performance told me

Re: ohio newbie here
I personally like the powerband of the turbo on my camaro much more then the supercharger on the grand prix. But then again my camaro is set up for much more HP then this 4000lbs grand prix is. The one thing i like is the instant TQ(no boost lag) from the supercharger.
