I've been reading the posts on this board, and I'm hoping to get some advice from the experts.

I own an '85 Trans Am that I've had since Dec.15, 1984. The car has 81,000 miles on it, automatic transmission, has been garage kept and very well maintained. I have decided to sell it because of age - MINE - not the car's! I have all of the original documentation for the car - window sticker,etc.

Where is the best place to advertise it? What would be a fair asking price? I have been told to ask $3500-4000. Is that out of line for this car?

Your price seems pretty good. Your best bet is in local newspaper and online classifieds. Whether that be here, www.camaroz28.com, or autotracer. Good luck!

I would also try ebay, but set the reserve at like $4000. and see what happens. You might get lucky.

Where in PA are you located? I am in NJ and am always looking for a nice one owner T/A. Your price sounds very fair. Do you have any more info on the car? (Engine, body, etc)

I'm located between Reading and Pottstown. Since I'm kind of green about this selling thing, I'm hoping these are the particulars you want to know.

The engine is a 5.0L 4BBL V8 (305)

Car is dark blue with gray fascia, has cruise control, tilt steering wheel, power windows, rear window defogger, intermittent wipers, the radio is not original - has an AM-FM/CD player. That's the only thing that has been changed on the car. The cargo cover and cover for the T-tops are with the car. Has AC, but it would need to be recharged with freon (checked into retrofitting, but was advised the car would need more fans) the AC is fine, but the guy balked at using freon.
