I've done alot of street racing and such but id like to get more into the competitative side. I've got an old '86 T/A that i want to drop a big block into. I was just wondering what kind of regulations there might be for different classes or what not? Just wondering where i might be able to find out a lil more info. Is it all about who can build the biggest and badest.
#1, bracket racing isn't about speed. Read some of the other recent posts about cutting good lights and having a vehicle that runs consistant. Since bracket racing is also called handicap racing, even though 2 vehicles run at different speeds, they're supposed to cross the finish line at the same time and even the slowest vehicle in the class can win.
There are very few limitations on what you can do to build a bracket race car. Buy an NHRA rulebook since there are requirements for running different speeds/ET.
If you want to run in "class" racing such as Stock/Super Stock, then there are lot of limitations on what you can do.
