Got the stock LG4 with 2" true duals with cats, 3.73 open rear, in an 87 Cutlass Supreme Brougham down to a 15.5 last night. No MPH in the left lane, but another run I did was 16.49@87.91 mph so it had to be at least 88mph. This seems damn good to me. Traction was a big problem, I had to bring my tires down to about 22psi and do a really long burnout to get into the 15's. Also have to let the car cool down good to get a decent time.

btw, this was with no air cleaner, 94 octane with timing advanced quite a bit and factory quadrajet.

No tuning to the carb? My friends 84 Cutlass had a S hanger with DD (the worst ever made) secondary rods. That thing ran horrible. A quick swap with the B hanger and DR rods from my car netted a HUGE improvement!

Well I adjusted the idle mixtures but that was about it. Doesn't seem to lean out or anything. The 84's had less hp than 85 and up so maybe they were jetted differently. It seems to work pretty good for what it is anyways.

The difference in HP between years was only about 5-10HP, much like the F-bodies. Carbs were near identical as far as secondary tuning goes. Regardless, its a cheap mod thats AT LEAST worth trying. I'll bet you'll be pleasantly surprised!

I will see if I can get some of those and give it a shot. Actually I'm gonna do the rear end and tranny in my Caprice (build up the 700R4 with 3000stall and 4.10 posi gears hopefully) then see what the LG4 can do while I build a real motor for it.

Any ideas where I can get these rods and hanger? I'm gonna try and get a little more power from the 305 until I get my 350 done.

You can get them at Jegs or Summit. Look for them under Edelbrock.

Don't be suprised if you have to play around with different rods and hangers.

I bought several so I could test and tune them.
