I did it!! At our Shootout last Sunday, We had cloud cover most of the mornin but at just before noon I decided to make my first pass. I dropped the rear tire pressure to 32lbs on my BFG Comp TA's and pulled up to clean them off so the first one felt ok, and then the 2nd WHEW!!! I said: uuhhohh we may have somthin here.
So, I did one more and staged, it pulled harder than it has ever pulled before, I knew it was a good pass but I wasnt sure just how good, I was hopin it was that magic 13 I had been hopin fer. So when I got around to the booth to get my time slip the girl said sir you will need a helmet to race anymore. I told here, ma'am I have been a waitin to hear that for a long, long time.
I ran a 13.959@97.05 and get this a 1.875 60' on street tires!! AND thats with a motor that has 272,000 miles on it and its the original motor that has had nothin more than a cam swap done and the rest of the mods have been upstairs. All the rest is original inside the motor, right down to the last rod and main brg.

Oh and for more info on my car go here
Track conditions can make all the difference in the world. You could go back a week later and run nothing better than a 14.5 because of poor track or air conditions.
The magic goal for many people with a street car is to hit that 100 mph mark in the 1/4 mile. Typically, it's not as easy as it sounds. For you trying to squeak out 3 more mph it'll take more than someone running 80 mph trying for 83.
