Teach me to ask you a question in an unrelated thread. Couldnt find what post I asked about your camera....Finally had to do a search on my name! lol. Anyway thanks for the info. Looks like that camera really takes nice pics. I'll have to investigate it. Dad just bought a new dell 8200 system with the hopes of getting into digital photos. If XP ever lets us do anything....

I was considering upgrading to XP myself. But after trying to fix all the problems on dads system, and hearing about the crew boards problems I think I'll wait a year or two.

Brandon, the only prob I have with XP is the site issue. Other than that I love it. It's stable and has some really neat features. I know several people that run it and none of us have any issues with XP except for the club board problem and I'm not convinced that that specific issue is XP caused.

XP has some nice features, IF you can get drives for everything, i say switch to it. i have it running, and i haven't had any problems with it. just make sure to get a GOOD firewall, cause it isn't the most secure OS out there.

Brandon, if you are looking for a real good digital camera, but don't want to spend 600 bucks, you should seriously check out the Kodak 3900 ($399). My brother just bought one after doing extensive research on what was available. The 3900 is a 3.1 megapixel camera, and had the best image quality, color, and saturation on any camera under $699. Only Nikon and some Olympus cameras had better quality, but they cost much more. The similar priced Olympus didn't compare. I was surprised to find that Sony cameras had some of the worst quality. The 3900 is lacking a few features found on the spendier cameras, but has just about everything you should need including a self-timer. 3 megapixels is the minimum you need for top quality 8x10 prints. One thing about the Kodak cameras I don't like is that you can only save in jpeg, not tiff format, but that is a minor drawback. Most pics at top quality are just under 1 MB, and we are averaging around 40 pics on a 32 MB smartmedia card.

Myself personally, I am holding out for a 6.4 megapixel SLR bodied camera, but might buy a Kodak 3900 to hold me for a while once it comes down a little in price.

Here's some samples of what I've taken so far with my Minolta 3.3 Megapixel camera: (sized of course) Can take TIFF's too.

Thanks for the camera info guys. Been having printer and modem problems with XP. It doesnt want to talk directly to the printer from whatever program your using. You have to send it to a printer program then access that program and tell it to print... Also got a V.92 modem hoping to use its hang up on call function. But even though they say XP compatible on the box the modem will only function as V.90 when you use it with XP. XP will use a generic driver when installing, and no XP driver is included with the modem.

Having even more fun with the msn internet service. It won't always access email. And I've hooked the old machine to the new one in a LAN. Well due to msn using msn explorer you cant access the net from the secondary machine unless you get it started first on the main machine.

Also XP has crashed several times. Beleive it or not, I'm having better luck with ME on this machine.
