88 camaro question?

Hi fellows I have a question,I have a 1988 iroc z camaro witch has a 305 motor with TPI injection,my question is that I want to switch to a carb set up and keep running into this same problem, when I go to buy an intake everyone tells me I need a special one,I really want to just run an older 86 down 4 barrel intake like the edelbrock RPM but I'm told that the 4 center bolt holes will not line up? now I have center bolt valve covers an the heads look to be cast iron and the car has t-tops if this helps any,the car I all original with about 82,000 miles on it,I got the car from my uncle for my first car,I would really like to get it going with the carb and before any of you ask no I do not want to keep the fuel injection I just don't,thanks for all of the help guys

The only difference is the angle of the bolts
Just file the holes out on the center bolt holes of any reg (<87 ) SBC intake to suit
and use a washer under the bolt head.

Many aftermarket intakes now come with elongated holes to fit both style bolt angles , just do the same to yours
