Painted Tail lights, what do you guys think?

got my tail lights done, they are painted with clear coat, tinted with black. Bright as h3ll at night, and I personally think they look cleaner on a car then the stick on black outs, what do you guys think?

85maroz28 10-14-2002 12:05 PM

Looks pretty good. I like becaise it is different!! Great looking car.

jawzforlife1 10-14-2002 12:44 PM

Not to sound like an a$$, they do look nice, but I do think the idea would work better (including if blackouts were used) if there weren't black stripes on the car. The lights and stripes seem to blend together.

FyreLance 10-14-2002 12:45 PM

I think it rocks. :)

FyreLance 10-14-2002 12:46 PM

You should post night pictures.

1986CamaroSC 10-14-2002 12:48 PM

theres just somthing about them that doesn't seem right...they look sorta like LEGO blocks...i prefer the smooth look of blackout covers... but it's definatly different

1991 Z-28 10-14-2002 12:49 PM

did u do it yourself? how did u do that???? i want to do mine in red;... but i have no clue how?

KlayBuRn 10-14-2002 12:49 PM

Looks ok, can you get any pics of maybe the whole car in the pic with the tails.

That's my main complaint about your pics, you have such a nice car, and you never show a whole shot.

spartyon 10-14-2002 01:40 PM

i say where the stripe on the car meets the lights change the strip color from black to red to contrast the paint scheme. i think that would look pretty cool and very original

1991tealRSt-topGuy 10-14-2002 05:29 PM

wow, i like that:)

Mark A Shields 10-14-2002 05:30 PM

Did they paint your tips?

devianb 10-14-2002 05:34 PM

I like them. Since you say they are bright at night--I would like to see proof.

I have niteshade on the front and it shines completely thru. So much, that you can tell the lenses are discolored like most old ones. I had some pics at nite, but lost them.

Thanks Mark.:)

MetalliCamaroRS 10-14-2002 09:39 PM

Looks alright. One thing I noticed from the pic is your window tint on the hatch. Is that in strips? If so, take it to a place that does it all in one sheet, it will look so much better :)

MdFormula350 10-15-2002 09:59 AM

looks real good, black outs would kinda have the same effect..

but what you did looks better!

83tranzam 10-15-2002 10:06 AM

They look pretty good, but I think the old Z28/RS taillights look better tinted. Just something about the grid pattern...

SSaudio 10-15-2002 01:53 PM

where I live, there's only one guy that tints, and thats the way he does it, I know it sucks, but I have to live with it I guess.

FLYNLOW92rs 10-15-2002 02:38 PM

I'm still trying to figure out what year that car is??? Is it a 25th Anniversary or a 1991???

Looks nice nonetheless, let's see some night pics....:D

jawzforlife1 10-15-2002 02:41 PM

Well he dose have the 25th Aniv, badge on.

It's advertised for sale as a 1991 so that's why i'm confused?

jawzforlife1 10-15-2002 02:48 PM

oh, i get it know. My bad

lock 10-15-2002 02:52 PM

Now if you paint those headlight pockets, the car will be sweet.

IROCKER 10-15-2002 02:58 PM

Not bad...I think I would have went with the black-outs instead. But overall, looks professional. I would like to see some night shots.

jawzforlife1 10-15-2002 03:11 PM

Ya, do a day and night shot comperision

85_ZED28 10-15-2002 07:43 PM

FyreLance 10-16-2002 08:14 AM

:: chant :: Night shots, night shots, night shots, night shots......

devianb 10-16-2002 08:17 AM

I want night shots too.

TheLG4Whore 10-16-2002 08:18 AM

LET ME SEE SOME DAMMN NIGHT SHOTS!

devianb 10-16-2002 08:24 AM

The only reason I car about a night shot is because most people I know with any kind of black out gets hassled by the police because the lights are not bright enough.

dsaint1347 10-16-2002 06:43 PM

Nice

Does that paint job last long?

JimmyG-91Z 10-16-2002 07:50 PM

Had it like that for about a month now, and no signs of it coming off. I'm gonna probably get them cleared when I get my car painted anyways.

I have blackout and and you can accually see the lights better at night than in the day. There really isn't a problem seeing the lights but the cops can still harasse you if the want. I haven't had any problems with the cops thought.

fly351 10-17-2002 08:39 AM

not bad.

i am gonna attempt to make my own taillight covers :P
