Try to help me find my wheels...simple but yet hard to find

all im looking for is a 18 inch rim. black (preferably a classic 5 spoke) with a 2" (at least) polished dish. at least 9" wide up front and 10.5" out back. dont want spacers....

anyone know where something like this can be found???

BlueZee28 12-21-2005 11:24 AM

Grand Sport wheels? I dont know how big of a lip are on them, but they sure will look beautiful on your car! :p

CamarosRUS 12-21-2005 11:46 AM

thanks! thats what i wanted to get but they dont have enough of a dish unless you get the 3rd gen specific ones from SLP but they are only 17's and only 8" wide.....WTF?!?!

BlueZee28 12-21-2005 05:25 PM

that's cuz 8" wide is what you need to NOT use spacers...:o

Width of the rim has nothing at all to do with needing adapters or not

Z28ricer 12-21-2005 05:42 PM

CamarosRUS here are my two suggestions, though the price will probably scare you.

CamarosRUS 12-21-2005 05:51 PM

z28*****...very nice wheels indeed but i defenitly cant afford them :)

if i had that kind of money id be wearing these...

CamarosRUS 12-21-2005 05:52 PM

another car same wheels...this is pchopped

ZZ4 86 Z28 12-21-2005 08:19 PM

those are not the same wheels.....those are sportmax acing 962gm's http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...maro/962gm.gif

my car will be wearing those in spring....you'll need 2 inch spacers...4th gen offset only

CamarosRUS 12-21-2005 08:56 PM

haha...i have those wheels already, 17's on my jetta. they defenitly look sick. i wish the jetta would have been able to fit the 962's with the fat dish though...

now that you mention it...i might grab those and paint the spokes black (thats what i planned to do to the jetta anyway but the spokes matched my paint perfectly)

oh and ZZ4 86 Z28 those are Fiske wheels, probably over $3000 per set, wheels only :)

ZZ4 86 Z28 12-21-2005 09:01 PM

i see your point. lol. just a little much.

CamarosRUS 12-21-2005 09:11 PM

wait...black84z28-4spd are you sure those 962's will work because my set (i didnt think they made more bolt patterns) are 5x100 and 5x4.5 whatever that is metric. they will fit mustangs but not camaros...

ZZ4 86 Z28 12-21-2005 09:17 PM

mustang is 5x4.75 just in case you were wondering. and if im wrong, then fbody is that and mustang is by 4.5 i just know that those are the two different patterns.

CamarosRUS 12-21-2005 09:41 PM

yes i know...mustang is 5x4.5 and fbodys are 5x4 3/4 (which is 5x120.xxmm).

there might even be adapters to go from 4.5 to 4 3/4 but i doubt it because they are so close in size

black84z28-4spd 12-21-2005 10:35 PM

you dont need adapter...they make them for 4th gens....just need the spacers...the 18x9.5 are 160 a pop, the 17x9 are 140 a pop...can't beat the price

CamarosRUS 12-22-2005 12:45 AM

thats sweet. i got mine for the jetta for $306 shipped...all four.

could you send me a link to the 962's for the 4th gens? those may be the wheels i choose to go with....again

Z28ricer 12-22-2005 03:18 AM

I dont know why you'd run an adapter with those wheels, to clear things up, the sets they sell to 4th gen owners are the 5x120 MM, which they will bolt onto our 5x4.75(120.65MM) bolt pattern like BMW wheels. They are available in 18x8.5 with 35MM offset which will come out to 5.75" BS, simply running one of the brake upgrade kits available would knock you back to the typically ideal 5.5" BS up front, or with stock brakes just running the factory rear slip on spacers. In the rear the 18x9.5 with 35MM offset will be 6.5", again simply running a factory slip on spacer and you'll have a very nice fitment, or the 18x8.5 again in the rear, and no spacer, allowing you to properly rotate tires.

CamarosRUS 12-22-2005 12:26 PM

can some1 post a link to those wheels? i cant find any 962's on wheelmax, searched by brand and everything...

i do know when i got my wheels i got the very last set of my size and bolt pattern and i dont think they were getting anymore. :(

355SS 12-22-2005 09:50 PM

Without at least 2.5" spacers those wheels will not clear the front hub dust caps. It takes 1.375" to clear the hub itself and then the dust cap will stick through the center of the wheel.

CamarosRUS 12-22-2005 10:28 PM

ok, wheelmax doesnt have them anymore...damn those look good with that dish.

355ss youre right because i cant run the dust caps on the rear of my jetta because of the wheel design.

but i wish they had these with black spokes so i didnt have to paint them...id probably get over the spacer issue. too bad they dont come any wider than 9.5" though

i just caught this, the wheels on the black RS are not 962's they are Fiske wheels just like on he 4th gen bird above.

ZZ4 86 Z28 01-21-2006 10:38 PM

you didnt realize those wheels were different?

CamarosRUS 01-21-2006 11:07 PM

i dont know what different wheels you are referring to but the blue 4th genand the black 3rd gen have the same exact fiske wheels on them. the black rs is pchopped though.
