Cleaning stock lace wheels

Man I hate cleaning wheels, and these stock lace wheels on the 88 t/a are the worse. Being a white wheel isn't any better lol. What is the best way to clean them? I know that these spray on wheel cleaners can be harsh on the finishes but is there a good cleaner out there that won't take the paint off of the wheel?

Simple green and a toothbrush :D Seriously, that's the best method I've found. You could probably use a larger plastic-bristled brush to get it done faster.

LOL That's really not what I was wanting to hear. Did you get the part about Hate cleaning wheels. I may try the simple green but I'm not doing the tooth brush thing :)

I havent tried simple green on wheels but it works good on other stuff. The best wheel cleaner I have found is Meguiers Hot Rims. It works great on my wheels. I dont know if I would use it on bare aluminum as it is an acid but if your wheels still have the original clear coat and paint it should be just fine. Gets rid of brake dust and other road crap without having to scrub unless you wheels are really really dirty.

I use the hot rims stuff on my gold lace rims, and a babby botle brush, they look great.

Have you tried clear coating them once there clean? sometimes that helps at least the dirt and road grim wont stick as back and it would be some what more easy to clean if they did

Plain ol Bleeche-White....makes your letters on your tires white, cleans the tires, and cleans up the wheels nicely too. Just spray it on, let it sit for 20-30 seconds, and hit it with the pressure washer. It leaves everything clean.

It's dirty cheap if you get it at the dollar store.
