Your black Formula is the 2017 TGO Car of the Year. Its no secret - I love an '89 Formula 350...especially a black one. It also just so happens that this particular car is one of my favorites. This thing has a lot of cool surprises throughout. She's a high miler that is driven hard. Probably the workhorse of her stable. Make no mistake, this is a very clean, nicely kept Formula, but certainly purpose built, and maybe less refined than some of her worthy competitors. In other words, she's the Millennium Falcon - and this baby's got a few surprises left in her, Sweetheart. Bought from original owner in '91. Engine is a big CI sbc (classified?), solid roller (classified?) , AFR 245s with some cleanup work, miniram, custom throttle body, long tubes. Still has the SLP cold air kit put on in the early 90s. Trans has been upgraded with a lot of the latest parts. 3" dana/spicer DS, aluminum center chunk moser 9" rear, rodended rear control arms/panhard bar. Bilstien struts/shocks, Kenny brown 3pt stb, south side subframes, tube K member, random tech tq arm, S&W rollbar kit rear airbag for track. 13" Baers on all four corners. Dealer undercoating, leather interior out of a 91-2 GTA, Macewen(SP) white face gages, gauges in the hood. '96 RA wheels bought new from the dealer. Driven. 250K and counting. Re: 2017 COTY **Winner** Thanks everybody! Since last year (lol), I've been trying to figure out how or why my car won this. As we all know, anyone of the cars in the voting could have won it. They are all very awesome! But, its like going to a random car show, its all about what the judges happen like that day, tomorrow the judges could like something 100% different. I'm my book, all these cars are winners! |
