Installed my high rise spoiler I finally installed my high rise spoiler. i just need to weld the holes shut then I will be done. I got a decklid from a 91 Z so that mad the install easier. Taking the old decklid was a pain in the a** though. Gonna get it painted in a couple months, its gonna be black  . Got some grid taillights on the way and will probably get the windows tinted and an alarm in the next couple of weeks. Thought I would take some pics since it was actually nice today! http://home.comcast.net/~w.prokop/Hi...poiler_005.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~w.prokop/Hi...poiler_017.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~w.prokop/Hi...poiler_011.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~w.prokop/Hi...poiler_023.jpg |
Once you get those tailights tinted it will look sweet:) |
I disagree, I find blackouts ugly, I like the stock look. |
Blackouts are nice, Just try to get the more square lookin ones than the bubbly ones |
i love the look of the high rise wing. get the grid lights and it'll look much better. |
Where exactly does he say he's tinting the taillights? The car will look good black. |
I'm indecisive as to wether or not I like that look... I mean, the 82-84 GFX with the highrise. Looks like before you paint, you should buy my set of 85-90 GFX! :) :D |

Make an offer. At present, I've got the sides and complete rear... GREAT shape, no tears cracks, or deformaties (sp?). |
it's weird how just adding a 91-92 Z28 highrise spoiler to an 82-84 Z28 makes it look...it looks good...but it still kind of looks "naked" because of the ground effects. The highrise and the 91-92 ground effects work very very well together...it's coming together great! good luck |
whjere did you get a 91 decklid at?? im gonna install mine while my cars down for a while during the engine swap, so ill have plenty time to get it done. |

hey man this may be a wee bit off topic, but i was wondering if u had a better pic of your exhaust from the back. A ground shot would be awsome. |
here are some pics man. do you want a pic straight back? all the ones i took got messed up because of the sun but i will try and get a good one tommorow. the tips are the ones that come with the flowmaster catback. http://home.comcast.net/~w.prokop/exhaust_001.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~w.prokop/exhaust_002.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~w.prokop/exhaust_005.jpg |
thanks man, that exhaust looks great, keep up the good work. |
Looks good. From the pics it also looks like the allignment perfect. Did it give you any hassle? |
i plan on putting a high rise wing on my 91 RS also. what exactly did you have to do to install it? can i use my decklid instead of buying a z28 decklid |

Originally posted by CamaroEFI i plan on putting a high rise wing on my 91 RS also. what exactly did you have to do to install it? can i use my decklid instead of buying a z28 decklid -Remove plastic panel that covers the bottom of the decklid -Loosen the bolts that secure declid to the glass -Remove 2 black screws that come of a black metal extension connected to the glass -Unbolt the bolts that secure the struts. The glass weights a ton too! -Hard part, removing old decklid. Its now only held on by a type of sealant. I used a long utility blade knife. Take your time and be patient so you dont cut yourself like me :D -Once you get that off just clean the glass up and put new sealant on there -Put new decklid on and align it -Then just do the first couple of steps in reverse. -Put your high rise spoiler on then say damn that looks good  It will be different for you if you just use your original decklid. You will just have to fill in all your original holes and drill new ones for the highrise spoiler. If you can weld then you should probably go this way. Mike |
Thanks for the good info breakdown This should make installing mine go smoothly. I like the two person trick, never thought of that. |
